My Story

I have done a few half-marathons over the years, but I thought my running days were past me when I broke my ankle in 2023 (tibia and fibula - now held together with a metal plate!) and then got my perpetually bad back diagnosed as Axial Spa (ankylosing spondylitis) in 2024.

But here we are in 2026 and my trainers are back on!

My time won’t be speedy, but I’m hoping that the experience will be amazing and that will be even more so if I manage to raise some money for the charity Rebooted.

In the UK, 1 in 5 prisoners reads at the level of a primary school child. That makes everyday life incredibly hard. And it's a cycle. 200,000 children have a parent in prison, and 65% of boys in that situation will go on to offend themselves. Rebooted breaks that cycle. They repurpose unwanted laptops and get them into the hands of vulnerable people, including the children of prisoners and people leaving prison. Please help them offer access to hundreds of courses and to gain the digital skills to build a better future.
