My Story

I'm running the London Marathon 2026 as part of Team Starlight!

Hello everyone!

I have been lucky enough to get a 2026 London Marathon place with the amazing charity Starlight!

As most of you know I am always running, but I haven't ran this since Jacob was born, so I'm ready to tackle the streets of London again and take on the challenge of completing my 16th London Marathon and 18th marathon in total!

However, I would really appreciate your help! I have pledged to raise £3000 for Starlight in return of me running 26.2 miles!

I will be honest, I had never heard of this charity until June this year, when we unfortunately had to take our eldest son William to QE Hospital in Woolwich before being blue lighted to St Thomas' in London.

Although we wasn't at QE for very long, I was absolutely amazed at what Molly from Starlight did for him! From taking the fear of being in hospital away, putting a smile on his face, and offering him a Nintendo Switch to play on suddenly made the whole experience less painful for him! And the goody bag he was given for the ambulance all helped to make this horrible experience not so horrible for him!

Luckily William came out on top, but this isn't always the case with many children, who unfortunately will spend a lot longer in hospital than he did.

I will be ever so grateful to anyone who can help me raise this money so Starlight can continue to provide play, fun and support for all the children in hospital and keep life as normal as possible for them!

Thankyou so much ❤️🏃🏽‍♀️

The healing power of play

At first glance, it’s easy to think that play happens when the important stuff is taken care of. But for children, play is central to the way they learn and cope with new challenges.

That’s why Starlight are committed to making play matter so much, it becomes an intrinsic part of every child’s healthcare pathway. They want to create a world where it’s official policy that play is a prerequisite on every child’s medical treatment plan.

Starlight are there to help all decision-makers understand the importance of play, leading thinking on its potential for positive impact, with the science to back it up.
