Jess takes on London marathon 🥋
Jessica Smithson
My Story
Late last year I lost my hero, my Grandad Phil. 🤍 He was an amazing man who told the best dad-jokes, taught me to swim and to read, and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure to meet him.
My Grandad was an athlete all of his life: running marathons, completing triathalons and even taking part in bodybuilding competitions!
Judo was always his biggest passion though. This link from the British Judo Association shares his amazing story so please take a moment to have a look. https://www.britishjudo.org.uk/obituary-phil-smithson/
In order to honour his memory I will be running the London Marathon in April 2026. I will be raising money for the Guide Dogs, a charity he fundraised for throughout his life. 🐾 And in a nod to his exceptional life in Judo, I will be running the marathon in a full Judo Gi. 🥋 Because why not make a marathon even harder! 😅😂
Please do spare any donation you can, nothing is too small. For those who are able to donate please feel free to leave the name of a lost loved one in your donation comment - I would like to carry the names with me in some form so that my Grandad isn't alone. ❤️
