My Story
Hi all!
I have crazily decided to take part in TCS London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026 for #TeamFarleigh!
Farleigh hospice provides vital hospice care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses. Myself and my family have seen first hand how vital this support can be. Sadly we lost my Uncle Lee 9 years ago to cancer. Due to losing Uncle Lee I am very aware of the vital support Farleigh Hospice offer when families are going through their most difficult times.
Since I have started my marathon training journey my beautiful best friend Alex was diagnosed with cervical cancer in September 2025. Alex fought incredibly hard and was unbelievably strong throughout her battle against cancer. Alex passed away on the 13th April 2025 💔. Alex passing away is incredibly raw right now - but I know from speaking to Alex how Farleigh supported her during her battle with cancer. In addition, how they are continuing to support her husband Joe and her beautiful family.
This is why it is so important I finish this marathon for Alex and her family and raise as much money as possible, so Farleigh can continue to support as many patients and families as possible in their time of need.
It costs Farleigh £21,271 a day to provide their services and with only 40% funded by the NHS, they rely heavily on community donations. For example, people running the London Marathon and raising money for them!
Thank you all for taking the time to read and hopefully donate any amount big or small- whatever the amount I know how much it will make a difference to Farleigh Hospice and the patients & families they support / care for (Remember gift aid applicable to donate as much money as possible to Farleigh).
I am so honoured to be running the London marathon for Farleigh Hospice, in memory of my Uncle Lee - we will be raising a glass for you at the finish line 🍺. Love you 💙
And for you Alex- you showed me how to fight, the definition of strength and bravery. All whilst you supported and loved everyone else in your darkest days. I never imagined I would be doing the marathon without you being here. But I hope you are watching and I can make you proud, because I am so bloody proud of you. I'll be forever grateful for nursing bringing us together and us bonding over our love/ hate relationship with it. Love you so much 💜
I can't wait to hopefully raise as much money as possible and run London Marathon 2026 #TeamFarleigh !
