My Story

Hi, I’m Joanna. In April 2026, I’ll be lining up for the London Marathon - a huge personal challenge that I’m proud to take on in support of the British Gymnastics Foundation (BGF).

Gymnastics has completely changed my life, and my family’s too. From the skills (mainly in adulthood), to the friendships, opportunities, and experiences it’s given us, gymnastics has shaped who we are. And it's fair to say our lives reolve around the sport and to getting as many people as possible involved in it! I know first-hand the positive impact this sport can have, and that’s why the BGF’s work means so much to me.

Why the BGF matters

The Foundation exists to make sure more people can feel that same impact. They run incredible programmes that:

Support families through hardship grants, helping children stay in the sport they love

Deliver Love to Move, a dementia-friendly gymnastics programme transforming lives across the UK

Create inspirational experiences that give people unforgettable moments in gymnastics

Open doors for disabled, disadvantaged, and unemployed people to find community, purpose, and joy through the sport

Why I’m running

The London Marathon is a test of endurance, determination, and spirit.  Running 26.2 miles will push me to my limits, but I’m motivated by the chance to give back to a sport that’s given me and my family so much.

How you can help

Every donation goes directly to the British Gymnastics Foundation and helps change lives through the power of gymnastics. No matter the size, your support will make a real difference... and will carry me every step closer to that finish line.

Thank you for supporting me, and for helping to spread the magic of gymnastics even further.

Remember, Anything is Possible if you JUST WORK!
