My Story

About us

I’m proud to be running the London Marathon to raise money for Southgate Sports and Leisure Trust (SSLT), a charity that provides and maintains vital sports and leisure facilities in Trent Park.

SSLT’s mission is simple but powerful: to make sport accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds through high-quality facilities, coaching, and training. Every year, they help introduce over 1,000 children to sport through coaching programmes, youth projects, and school outreach in partnership with Southgate Hockey Club. These opportunities don’t just get kids moving but they build confidence, teamwork, and positive habits that can last a lifetime.

On a personal level, this marathon means a lot to me.

I’ve never been a “natural runner.” In fact, my second-longest run ever was a half marathon. Taking on 26.2 miles is a huge step outside my comfort zone, and that’s exactly the point. This challenge is about proving to myself (and maybe a few others) that I can do hard things, even when they feel daunting.

Running has also become an important tool for my mental health. It gives me space to reset, manage stress, and build resiliencec one step at a time. Training for this marathon hasn’t just strengthened my body, it’s strengthened my mindset, and reminded me how powerful movement can be for both physical and mental wellbeing.

By supporting my £1,500 fundraising target, you’re helping SSLT continue their incredible work and ensuring more children have access to sport and all the benefits that come with it. Every donation, no matter the size, genuinely makes a difference and will help carry me through those tough miles on race day.

Thank you so much for your support 💙
