My Story

This year I am running the 2026 London Marathon for St Helena Hospice. St Helena is a charity very close to mine and my family's hearts. In 2005 my Dad was diagnosed with an inoperable Brian Tumour, which he fought bravely until he sadly passed away in March 2009 when I was only 11 years old.

Throughout Dad's illness, he received respite, palliative and end of life care from the amazing team at St Helena Hospice. My Family and I will be forever grateful to St Helena for the care, compassion and dignity the staff provided my Dad and for the support they provided me and my family both during Dad's illness and after his passing. St Helena's support not only helped us cope at such a tragic time but vitally, offered us an environment to make some precious family memories.

St Helena is such a special place - it feels like a home and all the staff feel like family - it inspires love, positivity and hope - even at such difficult times. Nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff are fully focused not just on their patients, but also on the families. Whilst it's important to know that a patient is cared for as they approach the end of life their life, it's also important for the patient to have the reassurance that their loved ones will also be looked after and supported when they are gone - it provides comfort to them and makes all the difference in those last difficult weeks and days! My family and i can never repay St Helena for all they did for us at such a devastating time.

Please join me in supporting this amazing charity to help them continue the vital and life changing work they do so that other families can also receive the love, care, dignity and support when it is truly needed most. Please share my page and donate whatever you can, and know it is truly appreciated and means the world!
