My Story

Hi , I’m Joe Gaughan, proud patron of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, and even prouder dad to my son, Jude.

In April 2026, I’m taking on one of the world’s most iconic marathons to raise vital funds for a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.

The Principle Trust provides free respite holidays for underprivileged, disadvantaged, and disabled children across Yorkshire. For many of these families, a break away from the challenges of everyday life is something they could only dream of, but The Principle Trust makes it a reality. Through the charity’s holiday homes in Blackpool, Filey and the Lake District, children and their families can enjoy quality time together, make memories, and simply be children again.

As a father, I know how precious that time is. Every mile I run, every blister and early morning, will be for those children who deserve a chance to smile, laugh, and create happy memories.

Thanks to their 100% donation policy every penny of donations will go directly towards funding family holidays, for children across Yorkshire who face daily challenges through no fault of their own.
