Jonathan’s London Marathon in memory of Kieran and in aid of Ty Hafan
My Story
I'm going to be running the 2026 London marathon for Tŷ Hafan.
Too many families across Wales face the unimaginable heartache of caring for a child whose life may be all too short. Instead of cherishing every precious moment, they’re overwhelmed by fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. No family should have to walk this journey alone.
Tŷ Hafan can only reach 1 in 10 families who need their support, that’s why I’m fundraising—to help them be there for more families when every moment matters most. Together, we can make sure these families are surrounded by care, comfort, and the chance to create lasting memories
In 2019 my 21 year old son took his own life. He had been suffering with his mental health but when trying to access help from the NHS they significantly failed him despite attending A&E on numerous occasions.
My daughter and I found my son that night, subsequently we have both been diagnosed with severe PTSD.
Following the passing of my son we never received any support and were left to our own devices not knowing who to turn to until 2Wish came along.
I as a parent understand the importance of spending as much valuable time as you can with your children as you never know what is around the corner.
We were able to have 21 years of wonderful memories.
Running the London Marathon with Katie is going to be extremely emotional, not least being able to share the experience with Katie knowing the struggles that we have, but also in memory of Kieran.
It is an honour to raise vital funds for Tŷ Hafan so they can continue to support the families in enabling them to make such valuable memories in their child’s short life.
Any support you could provide would be so gratefully received and will make such a difference to so many families’ lives.
Thank you
