My Story

Unlike Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock in the early 2000's, I received slighter longer than two weeks notice....I had three.

Three weeks to prep for a marathon. I think it would have been a no for another reason than to support Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK.

Cardiac Arrest is the biggest killer in the UK. It happens without warning and can affect anyone. Over the last ten years I have focused on helping improve survival rates but creating a company who are the only provider in the UK to never have an AED fail.

The worry I always had though was, 'how do we help those who survive and the people who use the device after an event?'. It was an answer I never had until I crossed paths with Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK.

From Facebook group to ERC advisors, this group is the real deal.

Focused on supporting both those who have survived a cardiac arrest and the ones around them. Both have a new journey to navigate. Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK are the light in the dark. Helping people learn their way and find their new normal.

The work they do is astounding and comes fully through donations. So when I got the call, three weeks out, it was only ever going to be a yes.

So here I am, taking the plunge and the challenge, because 26.2 miles is a long way but the journey that Sudden Cardiac Arrest UK help people along is far tougher.

Anything you can give goes to helping people affected by cardiac arrest. With over 40% of the UK who will either have a cardiac arrest or have a loved one who suffers one, it's incredibly important the help is there for people who need it most at their darkest times.
