My Story

When I was younger I used to do cross-country running but i didnt continue this into secondary school. I only started running again recently beginning with the Couch to 5K. Although running is something I did a lot as a kid, I never imagined I’d come back to it . After finishing Couch to 5K, I wanted to push myself further, so me and my girlfriend signed up for the Great North Run. Training for it and running it turned out to be an incredible experience, and I loved the feeling of crossing the line.

At the time I was certain I’d never want to run a full marathon. But a few months later I changed my mind. I realised that the London Marathon would be an amazing personal challenge and a chance to fully commit to something I could be proud of. And so when Hear Together offered me the chance to run it for them I knew it was something I had to do.

Hear Together is an incredible charity which is so worth supporting and it's an honour to be running for them . The work Hear Together does helps so many people across all age groups, and it brings together teenagers and children with hearing loss so that they are part of a community which can support each other in facing the challenges of living with hearing loss, and that's why every penny donated counts so much

The money donated will all go towards the amazing work Hear Together does, not only locally in Nottingham, but also nationally across the UK, such as:

  • Social, learning and wellbeing activities to bring people together (activity days for deaf children and teenagers, deaf Baby & Toddler group)
  • Hear2Help adult services
  • Raising awareness of hearing technologies
  • Raising awareness within the hearing community for how to communicate with and include deaf people

I am really looking forward to taking on this challenge and raising money for this amazing charity, any donations and support are greatly appreciated.
