My Story
I have always had the opportunity to explore any sport I wanted to but sadly that's not the case for most women and girls. Girls are often pushed out of sport by barriers: lack of access, limited representation, social pressures, and unequal opportunities. Every one of them deserves the chance to stay active, feel supported, and truly belong in sport and physical activity.
Since I started running, sport has had a huge impact on my life. It's taught me resilience, discipline and self-belief. I want every little girl to feel those same empowering experiences.
I’ve seen firsthand the obstacles that can push women, especially teenagers, out of sport: cost, lack of access to facilities or equipment, limited women’s teams, and not feeling like there’s a space for them. This inequality prevents many women from even getting started. Supporting Women in Sport helps break down these barriers and empowers women and girls of all ethnicities, races, ages, abilities, and backgrounds to stay active in ways that work for them—whether that’s running, walking, gym workouts, Pilates, or any form of movement.
As a woman working on the football industry, a hugely male-dominated environment, I know how important it is to keep pushing for equality, visibility and strong female role models. This cause is about creating communities where women feel connected, encouraged, and supported, helping them stay fit and healthy in ways that feel accessible, empowering, and inclusive.
Running the London Marathon is a personal challenge, but it’s also a way to give back to something that has given me so much. Every mile I run is for the women and girls who deserve the same opportunities, encouragement, and belief that sport has given me.
Every contribution, no matter how small, helps more women stay active, confident, and supported and inspires the next generation of girls to chase their dreams. 💜⚽
