My Story

Hello! Welcome to my fundraising page.

I was lucky enough to get a place in this year’s London Marathon through the ballot, which means I didn’t need to raise money to enter. But it would be crazy not to use this opportunity to support a charity, so I’ve chosen Dementia UK and I’m going to do my absolute best for them!

Although I don’t have personal experience of dementia affecting a close friend or family member, through my job working with the elderly - providing chair-based fitness in care and nursing homes - I see the impact it has every single day.

Even though fitness is my job, I was definitely not built for running. Marathon training has been a true test of both my mental and physical strength. It’s gruelling, pushes me to my limits…..and seems to make me cry quite a lot!

If you’ve had the pleasure of listening to me ramble on about this journey, you’ll already know about the falls, manky toenails, sore knees and chafed armpits. So glamorous!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I’m hugely grateful for any donation, no matter how small.

Lots of love, Kel xxxxx
