My Story

Hi everyone!

Yes I'm through & I am running (well jogging/crawling) the London Marathon on behalf of Helen & Douglas House , in memory of my little cousin Archie.

I am not a runner - infact if you know me you know I hate it!, but this is something I have always wanted to do & I will be crossing that finish line no matter what!

As many of you know, Archie sadly passed away at the age of 13months old. Helen & Douglas House was one of his favourite places & where he spent a lot of time with his mummy & daddy, it is also the place where he grew his angle wings. As a family it is a place which we will be forever eternally grateful for, for all they done & all they continue to do & it is an honour to be running on behalf of them.

So, if anyone can spare any pennies/pounds to get me to my target (that is set by TCS), I will be very grateful! & if anyone fancies a day out, please feel free to come along & cheer me on!

About us

Helen & Douglas House :

Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely.

Helen & Douglas House is a homely place for local children, living with life-limiting and terminal conditions, and their families. We provide care in a warm, loving environment. Our hospice is filled with laughter, whilst also being peaceful place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.

London Marathon :

AThe London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.

Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.

What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
