My Story
I'm fundraising for South Central Ambulance Charity because they paid for my qualification to become a CFR. I'd like to raise money for somebody else to also do the same. It's a great charity with some wonderful people and I'm proud to be supporting them.
I started running in January 2023. In August 2022 I saw a picture of myself and I cried myself to sleep, knowing the next day I was going to change my life. I was overweight, ill and always exhausted. I woke up on 13th August 2022 and started walking round my house. I walked 10,000 steps a day to start and by Christmas I'd lost 2 stone. I then met a lady called Sharon who was talking about parkrun. I asked her all about it and the on 7th January 2023 I started my parkrun journey. I met so many incredible people and started going to coffee club which was made up of lots of lovely people from The Netley Abbey Runners. I joined the run club and they have massively helped me on my running journey. I started doing 5k runs the 10k and my 1st Half Marathon in April 2025 with absolutely incredible support from my club. Every step of the way there has been someone from the club by my side on each run I have done. There has been encouragement and belief that I can do it. So here I am 5 stone lighter, a runner and happier then I've ever been. I qualified as a CFR and doing a job that has been a dream of mine since I was a child.
Next step is to do The London Marathon š„° I'm so excited and proud to fundraise for The South Central Ambulance Charity!
