London Marathon For Crohn's and Colitis
Lauren Livingstone
My Story
I’m running the London Marathon for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2022 and overnight my life changed.
I was in constant pain, bloated, exhausted and losing a lot of weight. I found myself heavily relying on pain relief, biologic medication and regular hospital visits.
Exercise.. something I loved, became nearly impossible.
In 2026, I’ll be running the London Marathon in support of Crohn’s & Colitis UK, to raise awareness and give hope to others living with inflammatory bowel disease. This wouldn't be possible without the support from Evinature.
My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s proof that healing, resilience and a full life are possible, even after diagnosis. I was days away from starting a very strong injectable course of medication until I discovered Evinature and it completely changed my life.
Through a natural, science led approach, my symptoms improved dramatically. I was able to come off all prescribed medication and today I manage my condition using Evinature to stay in remission.
Living with Crohn’s or Colitis means learning just how strong you have to be, even on the days when your body has other plans. This condition is often invisible, misunderstood, and awkwardly avoided in conversation… but it affects thousands of people every single day.
This marathon is my way of saying you’re not alone.
I’m running to raise awareness, to help end the stigma and to support a charity that offers hope, research, and real support when it’s needed most. Every mile I run is for the people who push through their days while fighting battles others can’t see.
Symptoms to look out for...
-
Urgent and frequent trips to the bathroom
-
Severe bloating
-
Severe stomach pain or cramping
-
Extreme fatigue (the kind rest doesn’t fix)
-
Nausea
-
Blood in stool
-
Unpredictable flare ups
-
Weight loss or difficulty maintaining weight
-
Anaemia
-
Joint pain
-
Brain fog
-
Anxiety around food, travel, and toilets
Often invisible. Always real.
Training for a marathon isn't easy, but neither is living with a condition that controls your gut, your energy, and sometimes your confidence. I believe this condition deserves a bit more honesty and a lot more kindness.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply read this and feel a little more understanding, it truly means alot. Together, we can help fund vital research, create change, and make space for more honest conversations, even the uncomfortable ones.
Thank you for supporting me, for supporting this charity, and for helping turn something deeply personal into something powerful.
