My Story

I’m running the 2026 TCS London Marathon for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, a cause that’s close to my heart and part of my everyday life.

I grew up in a military family. My dad served nearly 25 years in the Army, and now my 20-year-old son is proudly serving in the RAF. His dad was in the Royal Navy’s submarine service. The Armed Forces have shaped three generations of my family, and I’ve seen firsthand how military life brings opportunity, structure, pride, and sometimes, strain.

That’s why SSAFA matters so much to me.

SSAFA is the UK’s oldest tri-service military charity. It supports veterans, serving personnel (both regulars and reserves), and their families — in practical, emotional, and financial ways. In 2023 alone, their trained teams helped over 53,000 people. From housing and mental health support to help with day-to-day challenges, SSAFA steps in when the Armed Forces community needs it most.

Since my son joined the RAF, I’ve spent the last two years getting fit, taking up running, and living more intentionally. This marathon feels like the right challenge at the right time — and raising money for SSAFA gives it real meaning.

Please help me reach my fundraising target of £2,500. Every donation helps SSAFA be there for someone who’s served, or someone who loves someone who has.
