Leon & Becks - Fundraising in memory of Finley Edwards
My Story
We are happy, apprehensive yet incredibly proud to announce that we—Leon Darbey and Rebecca "Becks" Jones—have secured places to run the London Marathon in April 2026!
We're excited to once again be fundraising for Tŷ Gobaith & Hope House Children's Hospices in memory of our late nephew, Finley Edwards.
Fin tragically lost his battle with leukaemia in October 2020 at the age of just five. Fin was cared for by the great team at Tŷ Gobaith, who provided services to families facing their toughest moments.
We're excited (well, maybe not so much Becks!) to be part of Team London Marathon 2026 and running in support of this vital charity. Becks loudly and passionately proclaimed that she would never run another marathon ever again after crossing the finish line in April!
Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith care for babies, children and young people who have life-threatening conditions and are not expected to live beyond 18 years of age. The hospice's support meant the world to our family (his mum Sarah and dad Chris), and we are determined to give back to this wonderful organisation.
Our Fundraising Goal
Having been selected for charity places with Ty Gobaith Children's Hospice, we each need to raise £2,000, meaning our joint fundraising target is £4,000.
Your donation and support will help provide life-changing care and support for children, ensuring their families can continue to receive the very best expert care and create special memories together that they can cherish forever.
Training Is Underway!
The training has already begun! Becks is no stranger to the challenge, having run the London Marathon last year after an incredible ten years of applying in the public ballot. This time, we get to take on the 26.2 miles together!
To kick off our training and fundraising efforts, we will both be running the Conway Half Marathon this December.
