Lou's Weighted Vest Marathon & More!
My Story
My "heavy" London Marathon challenge!
Excited to be taking part in the April 2026 London Marathon in a weighted vest - yikes! - and raising funds for Cornwall's Front Line Emergency Equipment Trust (FLEET). FLEET puts public-access emergency medical equipment in communities across Cornwall, so life-saving help is on hand until emergency services arrive.
There are so many brilliant charities out there. I decided this time to run for a small one doing a simple but powerful thing. The defibrillators, bleed control kits, and fire and rescue service medical bags provided by FLEET can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. And a bit of training in the rain, and aching legs and shoulders, seems well worth it to potentially save a life.
2026 is a year of crazy challenges for me...I've already completed a 100km indoor erg challenge (7 hrs 48 mins of continuous indoor rower/ski erg/C2 indoor bike/assault bike). Not long after London I'll be running the Snowdonia 50km mountain ultramarathon. Likely some other crazy stuff too...life is for living so why?!
Thanks for your generous support of this fantastic small charity. You rock!
