Lucas Argyrou
My Story
I’m running the London Marathon this year to support Southgate Sports and Leisure Trust, a charity that’s been a big part of my family’s life. They do amazing work helping people of all ages get active, stay healthy, and feel part of a community.
My mum and sister are still actively involved with Southgate hockey club after joining a weekly event called "back to hockey" 10 years ago. I too attended several times when I was younger, and im happy to see it is still running every Saturday.
I would also like to mention Cob, one of my mum’s close friends and a hugely loved member of the Southgate community. After she sadly passed away, the club began running the annual Cobathon in her memory, raising money for the North London Hospice. It’s a tradition that really reflects the heart and strength of the community I’m proud to be supporting.
A bit about me, I’m Lucas Argyrou. Two years ago, I tore my ACL playing football, and at the time I honestly couldn’t imagine ever running again, let alone a marathon. It’s taken a lot of rehab and patience to get here, but I’m excited (and slightly terrified) to take on the challenge.
If you’re able to donate it would mean the world to me and help Southgate Sports and Leisure Trust continue their amazing work.
