My Story

Hello! Some of you may not know but I am a beginner to running. I only started in September 2025. I am honoured, scared and excited to be running the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026 for an amazing cause.

I will be running to support and fundraise for Haven House children's hospice and an incredible little boy called Marley that attends my Hartbeeps classes. 

Marley has a condition called Tay-Sachs.

Tay-Sachs disease is a rare inherited condition that mainly affects babies and young children. It stops the nerves from working properly and is usually fatal.

I have chosen Haven House as it is a children's hospice in my local area that supports many children and their families. Children like Marley.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for seriously ill babies and children by creating a loving and warm environment for them and their families while they go through the toughest of times. Their specialist care team provide support to parents and carers who have children with complex medical needs. Many of the children need 24-hour care and supervision. They are a lifeline for these families, supporting them through their child’s illness. They support the whole family including mums, dads, brothers, sisters and grandparents.

Haven House provides round-the-clock care at the hospice, surrounded by beautiful grounds and woodland, in Woodford Green and through the outreach services in the home and local community.

How your donation could help:
£100 could pay for an hour with a physiotherapist 

£350 could pay for a 4 hour respite break in Haven House

£500 could for a music therapist service for a day

£3250 is the cost of a 24 hour in-house stay for a child with intense medical needs. This includes specialist nursing, equipment and round the clock care.
