My Story

Bedford Hospital, like so many other small, local hospitals, struggles to fund the facilities necessary for modern health care. The Bedford Hospital Charity and Friends provides valuable support to the hospital and therefore the people of Bedford. Over 30 years it has raised £10 million for a number of projects, the largest of which was £2.35 million to build a new Oncology Unit. The charity is run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff meaning its overheads are astonishingly low at around 0.5%. Just about all the money received goes to help the hospital and patients.

For over 30 years my family and I have been regular and grateful beneficiaries of the services at the Hospital and I am delighted to have the opportunity to give something back to the community. Your support is sponsoring my efforts at the TCS London Marathon is very much appreciated.
