My Story
I am honoured to say I am running the London marathon for Amnesty.
A little background into how I have ended up in this position, its a little lengthy but stick with it.
Back in March 2024, running wasn't in my plans at all.
Rudy was 6 months old and I had put on a few extra pounds as a result of one too many donuts, takeaways and chocolate bars (anyone with a baby that doesn't sleep well will understand!).
Catherine convinced me to sign up to a half marathon as something for us to aim for and try get us out of the house and moving again, something we had previously done lots of before Rudy (long weekend hikes most weeks).
We both quickly became hooked on running and since then I reduced my 5km time from 30 minutes to 18 and ran 2 marathons (MCR + Chster). You could say we achieved our goal of getting out and moving more...
Onto marathon number 3, LDN. To quote Jose Mourinho 'the special one'.
With ballots lottery an unlikely route, I see this opportunity to run for Amnesty a once in a lifetime chance to fulfill many people's dreams, including mine, the London marathon. Once in a lifetime, because I absolutely dread the idea of asking people for donations!
So... my ask is if you can, please support me on my London marathon journey. I am throwing the kitchen sink at a sub 3 attempt with plans to average approx 80km/50 miles a week, peaking at 100km.
