My Story

about Me

Those that know me will know I’m not a runner — or even someone who does much exercise at all. At one point, running to the shop felt like an extreme sport.

After watching my amazing wife, Lizzie, complete the London Marathon seven years ago, and then being lovingly reminded by my daughter Grace, “Dad, you’re 42 and fat,” I figured it was probably time to do something about it. Somehow, I decided to go all in and sign up for a marathon — because if you’re going to do it, you might as well do it properly. And what better way than to raise money for an amazing charity along the way?

Running 26.2 miles is so far outside my comfort zone it’s not even funny. Training has already pushed me harder than I ever expected, but knowing it can make a real difference keeps me going on the tough days.

Every donation, big or small, helps support incredible work — and gives me an extra boost when the miles start to hurt. Thank you so much for any support; it honestly means more than you know.
