My Story

🏃‍♀️ Running The London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2026 for Certitude.

Hello I'm Matt and I’m a special needs teacher as well as an avid runner.  Next year I am taking on my first ever marathon! And yes, it's the London Marathon! To challenge myself further I have a time goal of finishing in under 3 hours and 30 minutes.

I’ve spent my career working with children who need extra support, whether they’re navigating autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, or speech and language difficulties. I’ve seen firsthand how early intervention can change lives. But I also know that support shouldn’t stop when childhood ends.

That’s why I’m running for Certitude, a charity who continues that support into adulthood.

💙 Why Certitude Matters

Certitude provides lifelong support to over 1,500 people, helping them live independently, connect with their communities, and pursue meaningful lives. Their services include:

Supported living and round-the-clock care

Employment and training support

Shared Lives placements and respite care

Outreach services that empower people to thrive in their own homes

They don’t just offer care they offer confidence, connection and choice.

If you believe in this cause as strongly as I do, please consider donating.
