Meg’s Marathons for Children with Cancer UK
Megan Smith
My Story
Last November, my nanny Flo was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. This has been difficult for us to come to terms with because my nan is truly the glue for our family and means a lot to us all. Despite the diagnosis, my nanny has shown resilience, strength and most of all determination, which inspires me to take on my next marathon challenge.
In April 2026, I will lace up my running shoes, pin on my race bib, and run 26.2 miles through both Manchester and London. I am running the 2026 Manchester Marathon on the 19th of April, followed by the 2026 TCS London Marathon on the 26th of April to raise vital funds for Children with Cancer UK, a charity whose vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer. I am a keen runner, but the challenge of 2 marathons within a week will not be easy. Please support me by sharing or donating where possible, or even just some words of encouragement. :)
I ran for children with cancer back in 2024, and they were the best team for my first marathon so I've had to come back for a second! I raised £3200 in memory of my Cousin Owen. This charity is my chosen one to support because of all the wonderful work they do for children with cancer, their families and communities.
Thank you,
Meg 🧡
