Michael McCormack
My Story
Hi 👋 I’m Michael McCormack, and I’m running the 2026 London Marathon!
Every five minutes, someone in the UK dies without getting the end-of-life care they need . Marie Curie is working to change that and so am I.
I’m running in memory of our amazing mum, Diane McCormack — a devoted wife, loving mum to six, proud grandmother of three, and a cherished sister.
In my eyes, life was just getting started for Diane in so many ways. But in what felt like the blink of an eye, on the 11th of September 2023 — just weeks after celebrating her 60th birthday she was taken from us by pancreatic cancer.
In her final days, she received the dignity, compassion, and warmth she so deserved, thanks to the incredible support from Marie Curie. I’ll always be grateful for that care.
So I’m dedicating every single mile of this marathon to her , taking her with me step by step through the streets of London.
To keep providing this vital care, Marie Curie needs our support.
If you can, please consider donating no matter how big or small. Every contribution makes a difference.
Marie Curie is the official Charity of the Year for the 2026 TCS London Marathon, and together, step by step, #TeamMarieCurie is making sure that more people receive the best possible end-of-life care.
Thank you so much for your support 💛💙
