My Story

I'm running the London Marathon for Independent Age, a UK charity dedicated to supporting older people living in poverty.

Since its first race in 1981, the London Marathon has grown into one of the world's most iconic sporting events – a vibrant celebration where athleticism meets philanthropy, and where fancy dress is as common as running vests. The 26.2-mile route winds through the heart of London, starting in Blackheath and finishing on The Mall with Buckingham Palace as the spectacular backdrop, offering runners and spectators alike a tour of the capital's finest landmarks.

More than a million people have crossed that finish line over the decades, collectively raising over £1 billion for charitable causes. Behind every medal are countless stories of determination, perseverance, and human triumph – all embodying the marathon's founding vision: to bring fun, happiness, and a sense of achievement to a world that often needs it.

I'm proud to be running for Independent Age, a charity that works tirelessly to ensure older people in poverty have the income they deserve, protection from unfair costs, safe and secure housing, and meaningful connections within their communities. Your support will help provide vulnerable older people with vital information, advice, and services they need to maintain their independence and live with dignity.

Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.
