My Story

I am absolutely terrified to say that I will be running the London Marathon 2026, but incredibly honoured that I will be doing it to raise money for the Invictus Games Foundation.

I have been lucky enough to see first-hand how the work of the IGF changes lives and saves lives of Wounded, Injured, and Sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans around the world through the power of sport.

Serious injury or illness can have a profound impact on a person’s physical, psychological, and social wellbeing. For those who have served, these challenges are often compounded by sudden and life-changing shifts in career, identity, and lifestyle, placing immense pressure on family and home life.

The Invictus Games Foundation adopts a multifaceted approach to help WIS, both as they begin and throughout their recovery journey. The IGF uses the Invictus Games and adaptive sport to inspire recovery, rebuild confidence, and showcase the extraordinary resilience of the Invictus community. Beyond the Games, the Foundation continues its impact by providing access to international opportunities in sport, esports, and adventurous challenge, while fostering a supportive global digital community. By sharing best practice and driving research into trauma recovery, rehabilitation, and the power of sport, the Foundation is also helping to shift attitudes towards disability and mental health worldwide.

Thank you so much for donating and supporting the continuation of the IGF's amazing work - now I just hope I actually make it to the finish line!
