My Story

Finding out you have pancreatic cancer is shattering, for my family my dad's diagnosis was heartbreaking.

It is the deadliest common cancer. The brutal reality is that diagnosis comes far too late for most people. Sadly this was the case for my dad and we lost him just six months after his diagnosis, in March 2021. Half of people die within three months of diagnosis. So, families are left with only hope to hang on to.

But hope is not enough. The disease must be detected sooner.

And it can be.

Thanks to the work of Pancreatic Cancer UK’s dedicated team of researchers, a simple test to detect the cancer earlier is within reach. It just needs more funding.

With people running, cheering and raising funds to support this research, together we can save as many lives as runners in this great race. For those who know me, you'll know I'm not really a runner, so this will be a huge challenge for me, but it's something I'm so excited to take on! Knowing that the money raised will help others get earlier diagnosis, ultimately saving lives, will be such a big motivation. Please give what you can 💜

We will give it our all. We won’t give up. And we will cross that finish line.

This one's for you dad! 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️💕
