My Story

Let’s rewind to 2009. An 18-year-old Nic Minns staggers across the London Marathon finish line, just scraping past his dad’s time and claiming the coveted Minns Family crown. Sitting on the pavement outside St James’s Park, legs in bits and ego fully inflated, I swore I wouldn’t run another one until someone took that title off me.

Seventeen years later… the crown is still firmly on my head.

So why the fuck am I doing this again?

Well, this time, it’s not about chasing a time or proving a point - I mean… I am absolutely aiming for a PB... It's about using the miles, the effort, and the challenge to do something that actually matters beyond the finish line.

The Helen Bamber Foundation is a human rights charity that provides all-encompassing, holistic care to Survivors of human trafficking, torture, and sexual exploitation. Supporting some of the most vulnerable men, women, and children to rebuild their lives in safety, stability, and happiness.

What your support will do:

£10 can pay for a Survivor’s travel to attend our Community Groups. Where they can develop a community network and break the cycle of isolation and abuse

£50 can pay for an hour of specialist counter-trafficking support. To protect Survivors from falling back into the hands of violent gangs

£100 can deliver three hours of legal support to a Survivor, this provides Survivors with legal evidence of the abuse they have endured

£500 can give three Survivors of trafficking the medical assistance they need to recover from harrowing physical abuse

£1,000 can pay for our legal experts to attend court hearing and interviews for the most vulnerable young Survivors. Legal security is vital in ensuring that children are protected from further harm.

If you can spare anything at all, your support would gratefully appreciated.Every donation, no matter the size, helps make a real difference.
