My Story
My Story
I have been lucky enough to volunteer at the South Cambs RDA Group for nearly a year now. I love seeing how the children really come out of themselves whilst riding the wonderful ponies there. You can see how being able to ride brings them such joy and each week you see a noticeable improvement. We have even witnessed a former non verbal child say things like ‘faster’ with a little cheeky smile.
Some of these children would not have normally been given the opportunity to ride or be around animals at all. The work the RDA do really opens up all these possibilities that are so valuable and enrich the lives of both children and volunteers alike.
The amazing group I help with are such a great bunch and it’s a real pleasure to be able to give my time towards helping them.
It has been an absolute dream of mine since i was tiny watching it on the telly to complete London Marathon. I was always amazed at how all those people could run all that way and so fascinated by all the outfits you'd see.
I'm so incredibly lucky to have been chosen to represent RDA and i really hope i can do them proud!
About us
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
