My Story
In 2012, my best friend Silas was diagnosed with a high-grade brain tumour named Bob. He was just 11 when he passed away in 2013. The way he faced it with incredible bravery and courage has shaped me ever since.
I will always remember his laugh, our endless 'Game of Life' showdowns, shouting The Proclaimers’ 'I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)' at the top of our lungs, and most of all, the hope we carried right to the end.
In his memory, and with that same belief in hope, I’m running the 2026 London Marathon for Young Lives vs Cancer, to help other children and families going through the unthinkable get the support they so desperately need.
It’s not 500 miles (nor 500 more!), but 26.2 miles dedicated to Silas, and to the 12 children diagnosed with cancer every single day in the UK.
Every donation, big or small, will help give children and families vital care, strength, and hope when they need it most.
We'll face it all together - but we can't do it without you.
