My Story

In April, 2026 I’ll be taking part in the London Marathon, running to raise funds for the Renal and Dialysis Unit at Mid and South Essex Hospitals.

I’m running in memory of my grandad, who passed away after battling kidney failure. He received regular dialysis treatments, and the care he received from the incredible team at the unit was a huge comfort to both him and our family.

As a busy doctor, balancing long shifts and training for the marathon will be a challenge, but one I am determined to do in honour of my grandad and the countless others who rely on dialysis treatments to live.

The money raised will go directly to supporting the amazing work done by the Renal and Dialysis Unit, helping them continue to provide life-saving care to patients, and ensure they have the resources they need to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Thank you - Oliver
