My Story

I’m incredibly proud to be running the London Marathon in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, a cause that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

Growing up, The Royal Marsden has always been close to home. My dad has worked there since I was born, and over the years I’ve seen firsthand the incredible work he and his colleagues do. He has been part of pioneering teams, helping to implement cutting-edge treatments like the CyberKnife, a non invasive robotic radiotherapy technique which has treated over 4000 patients since 2011. More recently, he published the PACE-B trial in the New England Medical Journal, a groundbreaking study that has shown fewer, high-dose SBRT sessions can be just as effective for prostate cancer patients, improving both treatment efficiency and patient experience.

My own journey with the Marsden started at a young age when I took part in my first Marsden March, completing the half route. The year after, I went on to complete the full march, something that  became a really special family tradition and a great reminder of the enormous community behind the Marsden

In 2024, I ran my first ever road race, raising money for the Marsden. That experience inspired me to take on my biggest challenge yet, the London Marathon.

I will also be running alongside my aunt, a recent breast cancer survivor, and for my granny, who is currently fighting pancreatic cancer. They are both flying over from South Africa to be here for the marathon and for them to be there will make this challenge even more special.

Every mile is for them, and for the countless patients and families whose lives are touched by the incredible work of The Royal Marsden. Any support, big or small, would mean the world and will help fund the incredible life-saving research and treatment done at the Royal Marsden
