My Story

Mission accomplished...Thank you for all the support

We did it - Big Ted made it round, finishing just behind me!  It was hot and hard work, that required a fair amount of walking / running in the last 15 km, but we made it in 5:45. Delighted to finish, and especially thrilled with raising great profile for Hope and Homes for Children and nearly £4k.  Thank you to everyone for all your generous support and encouragement. Don't worry, I will NOT be signing up for a marathon again :)

Check out #bigtedruns on Insta for some reels from the day itself.

I have managed to convince myself to take on the (for me) enormous challenge of running my first London Marathon! I need to coax my failing body through a long winter of prep and round the course - hoping that calf muscles and Achilles hold together long enough 😀

Please support me as I run for the amazing Hope and Homes for Children who get children Back to Family. 5.8 million children are in orphanages around the world and yet more than 80% have parents who can, with support, look after their children. We can change this and consign orphanages to the history books, reuniting and restoring children into family, or finding them a new family, where they benefit from safety, love and nurture.

Thank you for all the encouragement 😀
