My Story

Running the 2026 TCS London Marathon for Dementia UK means more to me than I can put into words. I’ve been a runner since I was 8 years old and this opportunity feels incredibly emotional. It’s a dream that’s been a very long time coming. Dementia UK is a charity close to my heart after losing both my wonderful Nan, Joyce Williams and my amazing Grandad, John Knight to Alzheimer’s. Like so many families, we experienced the heartbreak of watching loved ones slowly slip away, piece by piece.

Dementia UK exists to ensure families don’t have to face that journey alone and their Admiral Nurses provide specialist, compassionate support at the moments when it’s needed most.

My Nan and Grandad were always so proud of my running and carrying their memory with me through this marathon feels like the most meaningful way to honour them. By supporting my run, you’re helping Dementia UK continue their vital work — supporting families, raising understanding and providing comfort in the darkest of times. This marathon is not just a personal milestone but a chance to turn love, loss and a lifelong passion for running into something that truly helps others.
