My Story
I am fundraising for an anti-racism charity as I take part in the London Marathon.
As a Thai person, when I lived in Thailand, I never imagined how serious racism could be. After living in the UK for almost 20 years, I have experienced inequality and unfair treatment many times. Some people may say racism doesn’t exist, or that they are not racist, but unless you have experienced being judged because of the colour of your skin, it can be difficult to truly understand how painful it feels.
Racism can affect people deeply. It can damage confidence, mental health, and a person’s sense of belonging. I feel fortunate that I am strong and resilient, but not everyone feels able to cope with these experiences alone.
As a parent, this cause is especially important to me. My children are still growing up, and I worry about how bullying, inequality, and racism could affect their future. Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are.
By running the London Marathon, I want to raise awareness and support organisations that are working to challenge racism and create a more equal society.
Any donation, big or small, will help make a difference. Thank you for supporting this important cause and helping to build a kinder and fairer future for everyone.
