My Story
Hello I'm Rebecca...
If your here you will know I'm running the 2027 London Martahon for Rosie's Trust.
After an injury I had to pull out of 2026 to focus on getting stronger and recovering. All donations made this year will carry over until 2027.
You may also know this year my hero...My Dad, David, who is one of my biggest inspirations in life, in 2025 was diagnosed with dementia at the young age of 53. My Dad has run many marathons and half marathons in his life, including the London Marathon a fair few times - and he used to always make a joke when I was younger that I could never do it….he just knew if he put me up to a challenge, I would always succeed at it one day.
With this year maybe being one of the last he would be able to recognise this achievement, I want to run for him to show him the grit and determination that he taught me, but also for everyone else who may be going through a similar scenario with their family.
Rosie's Trust is the perfect charity that bonds the love for my dad as well as my love for dogs. The work they do is incredible.
It would mean the world for any donations for families who need support from charities like Rosie's Trust.

Who are Rosie's Trust?
Founded in 2015, Rosie’s Trust is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to helping cancer patients, people receiving end of life care and older people with mobility issues to keep their companion pets by their side, keeping people and their pets together.
For people who are isolated, lonely and vulnerable, their pets are often their reason to live. They act as their family, their carer, their companion and their best friend. They give comfort and unconditional love, and a reason to get up in the morning.
When these people find themselves in difficult circumstances, be it going through cancer treatment, or dealing with illness and mobility issues, they can find it difficult to continue caring for their pets. This means that in their lowest moments, when they need them the most, people are forced to give up their pets. They’re forced to give up their best friends, their family, and their reason to live. At Rosie’s Trust prevent this from happening.
The London Marathon has become an annual, inspiring and colourful fixture in the world’s sporting calendar since the inaugural race on 29 March 1981: a celebration of fun, fundraising and fancy dress.
Over the years more than a million people have completed the 26.2-mile course – which runs from Blackheath to The Mall, with a spectacular finish in front of Buckingham Palace, showcasing the very best that the capital city has to offer.
What’s more, these participants have raised over a billion pounds for charity and there have been countless amazing tales of human achievement throughout the event’s history – living up to its aim of helping participants ‘to have fun, and provide some happiness and sense of achievement in a troubled world’.
