My Story

I'm running the London marathon this year for The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust (CTRT) a specialist Cancer charity. CTRT funds research into a range of Cancers, including some rarer types which do not receive funding elsewhere.

This charity is close to my heart and without it I don't know if I would have my sister still. 6 years ago when she was 28 she got a rare form of cancer called Gestational Throthblastic Disease (GTD) caused by a Molar pregnancy which is 1 in 1,000 chance and there are only 2 specialist in the country that deal with this form of Cancer, luckily enough one was based in London and without them and their knowledge I'm not sure the outcome would of been so lucky.  After a tough year and half of treatment and chemotherapy, my sister got the all clear, all thanks to the specialist team at Charing Cross Hospital and the research done by CTRT.

Anyone that has been affected by Cancer will know how tough it is, not only for the person fighting it but also their loved ones who have to witness the journey of fighting it. I am lucky enough to still have my sister but not everybody is as lucky as her in beating it.

So please, if you can, help me raise as much as possible for a charity that is doing amazing work and finding new ways to treat rarer Cancers.
