My Story

For over a year, I have worked as a Group Coordinator for Autism Hampshire and during that time have coordinated social and interest groups across the county, as well as launched a running group for autistic adults.

These groups offer inclusive, non‑judgemental spaces for autistic adults to meet, gain peer support, and form meaningful friendships. Our social meetings help many people improve their well‑being and reduce feelings of isolation - but they rely heavily on fundraising and donations to continue providing this vital support.

I am incredibly excited to be running the London Marathon in support of Autism Hampshire as well as The Avenues Group. This is a fantastic opportunity not only to raise funds, but also to increase understanding, challenge misconceptions about autism, and inspire others to believe in their own potential.

I have been a keen runner for four years and love running with my eldest son, but I’ve never gone beyond a half‑marathon before - so this will be a huge challenge for me, especially while training through the cold winter months!

Together, The Avenues Group and Autism Hampshire work to create a better future for autistic people. Your donations help us continue delivering life‑changing support, including autism‑focused training, supported living, community groups for autistic adults, Information, Advice and Guidance, the Local Autism Directory, and an alert programme for Emergency Services.

By supporting my marathon journey, you’re helping both organisations continue their mission: empowering autistic people to live the lives they choose, with dignity, independence, and meaningful connection.
