My Story

I am running the 2026 TCS London Marathon in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

My day job is Chief Pharmacist at The Royal Marsden. I'll be retiring from this role in July, and also retiring from a long and amazing career in the NHS after 36 years.

Over that time i have been privilidge to see and be part of some amazing developments in the treatment of cancer. Patients who would have died of their cancer 20 years ago are now alive - and while not comlpetely disease-free are living full and happy lives. None of this is possible without Research - and The Royal Marsden is right at the heart of many of the significant drug discoveries over the years.

I can think of no better way to celebrate TWO of the things that give me the greatest pleasure - Running and Being a Pharmacist. And by running the London as a drug capsule i can combine them both.

I believe i will be the first person ever to run a marathon as a drug capsule.
