My Story
This year, I'm running the London Marathon to continue my mums incredible fundraising efforts for WISHH and in her memory following her peaceful passing after bravely battling cancer for five years with strength, grace and unshakeable spirit.
Throughout her journey and her own treatment, she remained committed to helping others, raising funds and awareness for WISHH and making a tangible difference to the care and support provided by Hull hospitals, specifically the Queens Centre at Castle Hill Hospital. Her courage, compassion, and determination continue to inspire me every day.
She passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, but her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the causes she championed. I’m running not just to honor her memory, but to continue the fundraising mission she cared about so deeply.
Every step I take is for her and to continue to make a meaningful difference — every donation will help to improve the care provided at Hulls hospitals and make a difference to the lives of people who receive it. All donations and support are hugely appreciated.
About WISHH
WISHH stands for Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals. We fundraise to compliment and enrich the services and facilities at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital, over and above what can be achieved by the NHS alone, for the benefit of patients, their loved ones, visitors and staff.
Hull Hospitals serve a population of 600,000, which increases to approximately 1.25m for a range of specialist services. Over 1 million patients receive care each year.
Working in partnership with Hull Hospitals, we enhance the patient experience and give the comfort and wellbeing of patients and their families the attention of their medical needs, helping make a real difference.
