Samuel Clift
My Story
I am incredibly proud to be running the 2026 London TCS Marathon on behalf of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC) - a cause very close to my heart.
in addition to the London marathon I will also be running the 2026 Cambridge Half marathon on March 8th in support of Arthur rank hospice charity.
In November 2024, my Grandad, Kenneth Clift - known fondly as Sam- Spent his final weeks at the hospice following a short battle with cancer. The care, dignity, and compassion he was shown during that time were nothign short of exceptional. It was a deeply moving experience for our family, and it showed me just how special this charity truly is.
I am running not only in support of the ARHC, but also in loving memory of my Grandad. My goal is to raise as much money as possible to help ARHC continue their incredible work, providing comfort, dignity, and support to individuals and families when they need it most.
Thank you for reading and thank you for any support you can give!
Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition and those who need end-of-life care. Our outstanding services are provided free of charge to patients and their families.
We care for around 3,800 patients each year at our Hospice in Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech and in patients own homes via the Arthur Rank Community Team. This care supports people to improve their quality of life and fulfil their end of their life choices.
It will cost £14 million in 2025/2026 to run our services. Contracted services from the NHS are budgeted at £8.1 million, meaning that £5.9 million needs to be raised through donations, fundraising activities and trading. We are extremely grateful to our local community for the continual dedication, commitment and generosity they show in supporting us to meet this target.
