My Story
I'm running the 2026 London Marathon to raise money for Marie Curie, an organisation that provided invaluable support during probably the toughest time for my brother and me. In 2015 and 2016, I lost both my parents to cancer—my step mum in 2015, and my dad just a year later. At the time, my brother and I were just 19 and 21 years old, and we were left to navigate this devistation with little support and no close family.
Marie Curie was there for my parents, offering comfort and care when we needed it most, and their kindness has stayed with me ever since. It’s been a long and painful journey, but after watching some friends run in events this year for their special causes, I’ve never felt so inspired and clear that this is what I need to do!!
This year in September 2025 will be 10 years for mum and in July 2026, it will be 10 years since I lost my dad, and I want to honour both of them by raising funds that will help others going through similar experiences. This run is deeply personal, not just as a tribute to my parents, but as a way to channel the grief and trauma of everything that followed losing parents and losing our home into something meaningful.
Please consider supporting my marathon journey. It would mean the world to me and my brother, and to all the young people who’ve had to face similar losses. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Thank you for supporting this cause, and for allowing me to turn my grief into something positive in memory of my parents.
