My Story

I’m running this year’s London Marathon for Imperial Health Charity in memory of my dad Maurice, who passed away in October last year, and who we all miss so much.

Last year, the kind, patient and hardworking staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington helped Dad survive pneumonia and the flu, looked after him as his dementia progressed and worked hard to secure him a place in a nearby care home. We are so grateful that their dedication and care allowed him to spend his last few months in peaceful surroundings, and allowed us to spend quality time with him.

St. Mary's Hospital has always been important to my family. It's where my brother, sister and I were brought into this world, where our mum was treated for breast cancer and where she received palliative care.

As a family we are so grateful for everything the team at St. Mary's have done for us, and would like to say thank you by raising funds for the hospital via Imperial Health Charity. As the dedicated charity for St Mary’s Hospital - the major acute hospital for north west London – they provide extra support for patients and NHS staff.

Every donation received helps make a real difference. Your generosity enables the charity to provide extra support to NHS staff and patients (such as hardship funds for patients in extreme poverty), funding improvements to hospital buildings and facilities, ground-breaking research and innovative medical equipment.
