My Story

Dear Friends and Family,

I will be running in the 2026 London Marathon to raise funds and awareness for "Prevent Breast Cancer". This charity is the only UK organization dedicated solely to predicting and preventing breast cancer, and their mission is to stop the disease before it starts by identifying those at highest risk, including young women who are below the standard screening age.

This cause is deeply personal to me, as my wife Zoe was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer 10 months after what was the happiest day of our lives. Her diagnosis includes Breast cancer and secondary breast cancer in the bone, which is currently not curable, but remission is possible with treatment. Worryingly, Zoe was only referred to see a specialist because she was over 30 years old. This highlights the paramount importance of the charity's work in identifying women below the standard screening age.

Prevent Breast Cancer is making strides in research to:

  • Identify those most at risk of developing breast cancer
  • Offer preventative interventions to reduce that risk
  • Improve early detection methods to catch cancer before it develops or spreads

To learn more about the incredible work this charity is doing, please visit their website: Prevent Breast Cancer Research.

By supporting my marathon run, you are contributing to groundbreaking research that can lead to better prevention and early detection strategies, ultimately saving lives and reducing the impact of breast cancer.

I invite you to join me in this journey by donating to my fundraising campaign. Your support will help fund vital research and provide hope to countless individuals and families facing similar challenges. Together, we can make a difference.

Please consider donating and sharing this message with your network. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to a world where breast cancer can be prevented and cured.

Thank you for your support and encouragement.

With gratitude,

Prevent Breast Cancer
