My Story
Why I'm fundraising for Chain of Hope
It is estimated that as many as 15 million children die or remain severely ill every year due to potentially treatable or preventable heart conditions. Many of these children are born in countries where the life-saving care they need is simply unavailable.
I am forever grateful to have grown up in a family with the means to provide me with the healthcare I needed to live a full and healthy life. I also know that growing up, there were several kids my age that did not have that luxury. This is something I think about often and I admire organizations such as Chain of Hope that have made it their mission to ensure that kids have access to high quality treatments and support.
Chain of Hope was founded in 1996 to provide heart surgeries to children who would otherwise be unable to receive them. Their vision is that every child, no matter where they are born, has access to the cardiac care they deserve. In addition to treating infants and children in need of life-saving heart surgery, the organization helps develop cardiac programmes in low-resource countries by providing medical training, supplying vital medical equipment, and funding the development of cardiac centers.
Chain of Hope is funded entirely by the generosity of individual donations. I am running the London Marathon for Chain of Hope to help raise funds that will allow this organization to continue its inspiring mission. Your support is greatly appreciated!
