My Story

On the 25th of April 2027 I will be running TCS London Marathon in aid of Welsh Women's Aid, the leading chairty working towards putting an end towards violence towards women and children in Wales.

I feel incredibly strongly about this cause because now in my late 20's, I feel horrifed at the reality of how many women I have crossed paths with that have been a victim of abuse, exploitation or oppression.

• By the age of 14, it was safe to say, the vast majoriy of my female friends had been made to feel severly uncomfortable by an adult male.

• By the age of 17, I discovered that many had already had experiences of sexual assult.

• And in my late 20's now, I'm horrified by how many women I have come across that are survivors of domestic abuse or rape.

Violence towards women has now been declared a national emergency, with statitics of abuse and the rise of misogyny worsening in recent years. This is an issue that effects everyone, whether it's ourselves, mothers, daughters, friends or female associates, and therefore needs to be an issue that we all play a part in trying to change, to make the world a better and safer place for generations to come.

We all want a world in which women and children live free from abuse, exploitation, and oppression, yet:

• Violence against women and girls account for nearly 20% of all recorded crimes in England and Wales.

• 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse at some point in their lifetimes.

• A woman is killed by a man every three days in the UK.

Please join me in trying to make a difference by supporting my mission to raise £5000 by making a donation or sharing the link to my fundraiser!
