My Story
While women now run marathons all over the world, it wasnt until the early 1970's that this was even legal. Just one example of men making a choice on behalf of women. Women do not need or want this.
I will be running London Marathon 2026 for Women's Aid, a domestic abuse charity that empowers survivors and keeps their voice at the heart of the converstion.
I am running on behalf of all women, especially those who do not have the freedom, to help give all women back their own voice. Women's Aid aim to erradicate domestic violence and while on that journey, be a support system for all women, reaching those who face further barriers for support beyond being a woman, strengthening services and improving outcomes for survivors, and campaigning for change while educating everyone along the way.
COVID-19 saw domestic violence skyrocket and with it, the need for support. Whilst many of us take having a roof over our heads for granted, for some women the place they call home is nothing more than a prison they cannot escape. No woman should have to live in fear this way and all women should have a place to go for support and guidance.
Anything you can give to this amazing charity is greatly appreciated.
Thank you. x
